BlackBerry & Bakotech. Global giant in the portfolio of Polish distributor

date28.09.2021

The third quarter of 2021 proved to be very productive for Bakotech, a distributor of cyber security solutions in Poland and Central and Eastern European countries. The company's portfolio was joined by BlackBerry products, so far known mainly for the production of cell phones.

BlackBerry products were usually associated with reliability and high level of security, but the growing mobile market caused the brand to be overshadowed. Then it made the largest investment in its history - the acquisition of Cylance for nearly a billion and a half dollars. The acquisition brought artificial intelligence and machine learning-based antimalware solutions to its portfolio.

BlackBerry's holistic approach to cybersecurity is deep-integrated with Cylance® artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to provide greater visibility and protection against current and potential cyber threats. Product highlights include:

  • BlackBerry Protect - an artificial intelligence (AI) based endpoint protection platform (EPP) that prevents breaches and provides additional control to protect against advanced cyber threats.
  • BlackBerry Optics - a cloud-based solution that provides visibility, threat detection and instant incident response. EDR tracks threats efficiently and effectively, eliminating response delays.
  • BlackBerry Spark - provides visibility and protection for all endpoints, including personal laptops and smartphones used for work. Uses AI, machine learning and automation to provide better prevention of cyber threats.
  • BlackBerry UEM - Supports IoT with end-to-end endpoint management and security policy control for a diverse and growing number of devices and applications. BlackBerry UEM is a single management console that guarantees flexibility and security so users can work securely from any device and anywhere.

The distributor offers the entire BlackBerry portfolio available at https://www.blackberry.com/us/en.

"We are very proud to enter into this partnership with BlackBerry. I believe this is a watershed moment for our company, just as it was for BlackBerry to enter the cyber security market. I believe that we will be able to take full advantage of BlackBerry's strengths and successfully develop sales of these solutions in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe" - emphasizes Krzysztof Hałgas, CEO of Bakotech.

The aim of the Distributor will be to develop the sales channel and provide comprehensive support for business partners, including consulting services, assistance in the selection of solutions, analysis of product specifications in terms of customer requirements and support in the preparation of test environments. Bakotech also has its own BlackBerry technical lab and ADIT competence center, where it will build technical competence in the sales channel for the brand's products in the local market.
