MailStore Software is a tool that allows you to archive email messages by creating a copy of all messages in a centrally managed repository/archive. Users can use their own message archive via a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, a dedicated panel (MailStore Web Access) or a desktop application. The solution supports all the most popular mail servers. All mail servers compatible with IMAP and POP3 protocols are also supported, so it is possible to archive any mail server.

Purpose of implementation

What is the difference between backup and archiving mail?

It should be noted that there is a fundamental difference between archiving and backup. Using both terms interchangeably, as it sometimes happens, is wrong. Backups are meant to restore the state of the server before the security incident in a strictly defined period of time, while archiving allows for instant access to older messages without having to recreate the entire database.

User licenses

• The minimum number of ordered licenses is 5.
• A license must be purchased for each user whose e-mails will be archived, and for all users who will have access to the archive.
• If a user holding a license ceases to be an employee of the company, the license becomes available. The user archive remains on the server and may be assigned to other users.
• The order includes the License and the USS (Update & Support Service) Agreement including technical support services, updating the MailStore Server solution to the latest version, the ability to add new users to the current installation of the solution.
